Campsites in the Elbow Valley
The operators are Kananaskis Country Campgrounds, phone number 403-949-3132.
Reservations can be made in person at the McClean Creek Store.
The McClean Creek Store's Hours are:
Sunday - Thursday 10-6
Friday and Saturday 10-10
Starting around the May Long Weekend, they go 7 days a week, 10 to 10.
Elbow Valley Information Centre
The Elbow Valley Information Centre is operated by the province. It opens on Thursday, May 5th.

BackCountry Campgrounds
Camping by Elbow Lake
BackCountry permits are required to camp at any of the designated backcountry campgrounds in Kananaskis. The Elbow Valley has three campgrounds:
Big Elbow (6 units), Romulus (14 units), Tombstone (11 units). Purchase passes at the Elbow District office on Hwy 66 or call 1-403-678-3136. In Alberta call toll free by dialing 310-0000 first.
Free Zone Camping
One of the more common questions we receive at the Elbow Valley Information Centre is "Where can I camp for free?".
Random camping is permissible in some areas. For information regarding this activity, please contact one of the Kananaskis Visitor Information Centres at the following numbers:
