Bragg Creek Trails Association – Trail Centre
Bragg Creek Trails (BCT) has launched an online public engagement survey to gather feedback on a proposed new, permanent Trail Centre at the West Bragg Creek parking lot trailhead within Kananaskis Country. The survey is available at www.braggcreektrails.org and will remain open until February 28, 2026. Background information on the project is included within the survey.

The proposed Trail Centre is envisioned as a year-round public facility focused on trail access, environmental education, training, and volunteer support. Planned uses include a warming space, trail information hub, community gathering and meeting space, educational and non-profit programming, trail host and staff workspace and equipment storage.
BCT also conducted a benchmarking review of 12 comparable trail networks in Western Canada. Results showed that West Bragg Creek has the highest annual trail use, one of the longest trail networks, the most diverse user base, and is the closest to a major population center—yet remains the only network without a permanent Trail Centre.
The Trail Centre is considered a legacy capital project and will be funded through major grants and donations designated exclusively for this purpose. The building will be owned and operated by BCT under a land-lease agreement with the Government of Alberta. Operating and maintenance costs will be supported by a dedicated endowment fund. Construction will not proceed until full project funding is secured. Trail construction and maintenance funding will not be impacted by this project.
