Moose Mountain at an elevation of 7,995 ft. (2,437 m) is a prominent presence as a backdrop for Bragg Creek. If you are driving here from Calgary it stands out from the rest of the Rockies and it looks a bit like a moose lying down with the top of its head at the summit. You can get to the summit relatively easily, which is not something you can say about most Rocky Mountains. The access road, opposite Paddy’s Flats on Hwy 66, is maintained by Shell who have gas wells on the mountain.
